Toddler Creed

Got this in an email and thought it was darn cute and true!

Toddler's Creed
If I want it, it's mine.
If I give it to you & change my mind later, it's mine.
If I can take it away from you, it's mine.
If I had it a little while ago, it's mine.
If it's mine, it will never belong to anyone else no matter what.
If we are building something together, all the pieces are mine.
If it looks like mine, it's mine.

For the most part, Alanna isn't too much into the "mine" phase. She is, however, vying for control of the Toddler Underground at daycare.

There are three 2ish year olds at daycare. C (2.5), D(will be 2 this month), and Alanna. There's definitely a power struggle going on. For almost all of last week C was getting in trouble for pushing Alanna down like a weeble wobble. This continued through Wednesday at which point Alanna began screaming her head off if C would come within 3 feet of her. Then on Thursday we get the report that Alanna was put in time out for biting C. So, a part of me wants to give her a high five for not taking the bullying and the mommy part also wants to make sure that it doesn't become a habit. It's awfully hard to find good daycare for a biter ;) Turns out, she was in fact provoked by C, but that she was provoked about 15 mins earlier, then sought out the opportunity for revenge. So it was premeditated biting. Well, at least she thought about it and the consequences before doing it, right?
